Workshop Description

A linocut is a type of relief, or block print. Students will carve an image into a linoleum block and what's left of the block is inked and printed. In this class I will be giving an overview of the process for making a simple single-color linocut. We'll be going over concepting, image tracing, basic carving techniques and transferring the image onto print paper with block printing ink. Reina Young is a multimedia artist based in Hawaii.
