Workshop Description

Led by Reina Young Ages 14+ A linocut is a type of relief, or block print. Students will carve an image into a rubber block and use it to print onto fabric of your choosing. In this class I will be giving an overview of the process for making a simple single-color linocut. We'll be going over concepting, image tracing, basic carving techniques and transferring the image onto fabric, such as a tote bag or a tshirt, with block printing ink. One tote bag will be provided and students may bring in their own fabric or clothes to print on.
