Workshop Description
Two day workshop Led by Dane Nakama Open to all levels, ages 18+ Called a Shisa, Shíshī, Singha, Komainu, Haetae, and by many other names - throughout asia the mythical beasts of guardian lions or lion dogs have protected homes and families for centuries. In this workshop learn how to make your very own guardian figure through a variety of hand building techniques. Previous hand building experience encouraged but not mandatory. All materials and firings are included. Finished sculptures will be fired to cone 5 with no glaze. Pick up available 2 - 3 weeks after workshop.

if for any reason you are unable to attend our workshop, we kindly request that you pass on the opportunity to a friend who may benefit from it. please note that we can only offer a 50% refund on a case-by-case basis, and only under extenuating circumstances. unfortunately, we cannot provide any refunds within 72 hours of the workshop start time. as an artist-led organization, we have dedicated a significant amount of time and effort to carefully plan and prepare for this workshop, including purchasing materials. we ask that you please respect our hard work and commitment before making a purchase. thank you for your understanding. if a class is canceled due to low attendance or teacher emergency then you may receive a full refund or choose another available class to attend.
