Workshop Description
4 day workshop With Forrest Leonard Need basic throwing skills (centering+cylinder) Ages 18+ The lidded pot is a useful and widely varied form in ceramic history. Join us for this four week class that will cover three methods for making different styles of lidded pots. Forest will demonstrate the measurements and techniques for lid making, as well as the trimming steps necessary for a good fit. Students will start with throwing an Asian style lid and a closed lidded form before making a covered serving dish. We will then fine tune the fit of the lids during trimming and go over the extra steps needed for glazing lids. This class is designed for you to expand your throwing skillset by making fun lidded pots.
