Firing disclaimer:
We understand that your pieces are important to you, which is why you are trusting us with your masterpieces.

We promise to treat your pieces as if they are our own, with the utmost care.
Unfortunately, in the art world, there are no guarantees, and accidents or imperfections can happen. In the scenario that something happens to your work, we will do our best to correct and address the issue.

By trusting us with your work, you acknowledge that imperfections in your piece, glaze, clay body, etc., can occur, and you agree not to hold fishschool liable.

Additionally, no refunds will be provided for any reason, as we cannot guarantee outcomes in this process.
bisque firing
we fire our bisque to cone 04
members rate : $0.04 per cu in.
non-members rate: $0.08 per cu in.
requirements:

All work must have a signature, maker’s mark or logo

You must be able to provide us with the type of clay, temperature rating and name of manufacturer. Such as "bee mix, cone 5, laguna"

Work cannot exceed more than 1’’ thickness in any area

If you drop off work that is not bone dry, we will wait until your piece is dry before firing, and this will add to your wait time.
what we won't fire:

Low fire clay
-
Mayco stroke and coat on bisque ware

Work that has visible cracks

Work thicker than 1 inch

We will refuse to fire any work that poses a risk of damaging others work

glaze firing
we fire our glaze to cone 5
members rate : $0.04 per cu in.
non-members rate: $0.08 per cu in.
requirements:

Glazed work must have at least â…› inch of clearance of unglazed area along the base. This includes the underside of a trimmed foot.

You must be able to provide the name of the glaze, temperature rating and manufacturer if you are using glazes outside of our studio offerings.

If you want your work glazed all the way around you will need to provide your own stilts.

Work must be bisque fired prior to glaze firing. We do not single-fire work (work going from greenware straight to glaze)
we will not fire:

Low fire glaze (with the exception of Duncan Pure Brilliance)

Heavy work on stilts
-
Work with visible cracks
-
Glass shards inside of pieces
-
We will refuse any work that poses a risk of damaging others work
